Beginning in the summer of 2018, I have been a boat captain of tour boats and jet boats on the Upper and Lower Dells of the Wisconsin River. That means before this section goes on, I am required by our friends at the US Coast Guard to tell you about the life jackets we have on board today. They are the standard horse shoe style life jacket... you get the point. This experience has been invaluable in strengthening intangible skills such as professionalism, responsibility, flexibility, interpersonal skills, and time management. Whether it be taking 100 people upriver on a tour boat, or screaming 55 miles per hour upriver with 50 customers that do not know they are about to get soaked on a Jet Boat, being a Boat Captain has played a significant role in shaping the professional that I have become today. This is one of my favorite things to talk about, so beware asking about it otherwise you might get one of the most long-winded, midwest nice stories you've ever heard. My work at Dells Boat Tours has truly provided me the best summer job on Earth!
